UDL Connect

Online Community of Practice for UDL Implementors

Sarah Bowman, Lisa Beckman, Anna Smith, JMS Teachers, and David P. Lavender, JMS Principal present "our" story of our work with Universal Design for Learning. Jefferson Middle School is one of six schools in Lakeview Public Schools. LPS is in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan.

Wondering how UDL really works in the classroom? Come see how we took conceptual ideas of UDL and translated them into real lessons for real kids. We’ll share specific examples of lesson strategies, student work samples, and stories about our students' successes. We’ll also share evidence of our students' deepened understanding of the content following a UDL lesson while connecting the implementation of UDL principles to teacher evaluation. You will also have a better understanding of how to create a school wide system of professional development focusing on UDL.
