UDL Connect

Online Community of Practice for UDL Implementors

I recently worked with a phys ed teacher who has an eighth grade Health section.  She wanted to make her drug unit project more than just reading and answering questions.  The library-media specialist and I got right to work.  The LMS created a project requirement grading checklist/rubric while I created a menu of project choices.  We also gathered websites and books for the kids to use for their research.

I stopped into the class while students were working to encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone and choose something other than a power point or prezi.  A handful of kids accepted that challenge and rose to the occasion.  They wrote poems, songs and created interactive posters.  The menu board is located at anti%20drug%20project%20menu.pub.
