Hi! My name is Don Glass. I am a visual artist and educator who has held positions at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, the Louisiana Division of Arts, and the Philadelphia Education Fund.
I am a former Universal Design for Learning Leadership Fellow at Boston College and CAST. The Fellowship program is funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs. During my Fellowship, I worked on revising the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guidelines, designing blended online higher education courses, and developing tools and protocols for the UDL evaluation at the district level.
Prior to my Fellowship award, I was the Director of Outcomes and Evaluation at VSA and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. My work at VSA focused on building evaluation capacity to gather, use, and share valuable knowledge about inclusive arts teaching and learning, particularly using the framework of UDL.
I hold a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts and a M.Ed. from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. My doctoral research focused on national arts and culture curriculum reform and teacher professional development in post-Apartheid South Africa.

Don, this site and your materials are wonderful! What a tremendous resource, and I thank you so much for sharing with me. I will be sure to share this with colleagues both within and outside of arts education. I look forward to continuing to learn as I explore!
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of the UDL group. I'm not a part of the NEA evaluation, is Kim Willey?

Hi Don, I am glad to connect with you. How are things? I want to send you my draft of our New Media Arts curriculum - my unfinished homework from the on-line UDL course. Where can I email it?

Hi Don!
Things are going well... Still working towards the full integration, but things are coming along rather well! :)
How are things going with you??
Happy (almost) Holidays to you and your family!
Best,
Alexis
Hi Don! I'm super busy. I'm trying to incorporate UDL principles in my class but what deters me is the 'set' system the school advocates. I think I need to be a rebel! But I do try to keep in mind that all learners are different, and I should be patient when some students can quickly absorb the materials but others struggle. I realize now it's know only because of a lack of trying and as a teacher, having that mindset is so important!
Hi Don,
thanks for the note! I haven't been able to update the wiki this year due to some server changes here at BCSC, but that should be corrected by January 1. I hope to post more helpful things, then!!
Thanks for looking me up!
