Marylanders, if you want to know more about UDL Implementation, this is a one-time local opportunity….

The 2014 UDL-IRN Summit
The UDL Implementation Research Network (UDL-IRN) is hosting a summit focusing on UDL implementation and associated research on March 6 & 7th, 2014 at the Johns Hopkins University Columbia Campus, Columbia, MD. The intent of this summit is to gather practitioners and researchers to discuss the systematic implementation of UDL in pre-school, K-12, and higher education classrooms. The summit will be a unique opportunity to collaborate with a select group of leaders who are actively engaged in UDL implementation efforts.

The 2014 UDL-IRN Summit is Not an Introduction to UDL. It is about the Implementation of UDL.  Different from a large conference, this year’s Summit is limited to around 100 people.  We believe the size is perfect because it’s large enough to support a diverse range of experiences while being intimate enough to support a very personalized and social experience for participants. The 2-day program includes time for experiencing presentations and interacting with recognized leaders and people involved with on-the-ground implementation and research.  Presentations will cover a range of topics from implementation to research in schools, districts, states/regions, and in university settings. There’s something for everyone at #UDL2014!

Share some other ways that you determine the learner variability of your students :)

Many people expressed interest in learning how to go about planning a lesson to include UDL. Before getting started with the actual planning of lessons, first make sure you know what type of learners your students may be. Here's a link to the CAST class profile tools which would give you a place to begin. http://www.cast.org/teachingeverystudent/tools/classprofiletool.cfm Also creating a 10 question free learner profile using Survey Monkey is a tool that I use all of the time. http:www.surveymonkey.com
