Today’s educators are challenged to meet significant variations of instructional needs within group sessions. Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework, attendees will identify common threads of learner variability, access UDL tools for planning flexible activities, and prepare for individual needs amid challenging groups. The targeted audience for this workshop includes SLPs, special educators, general educators, teacher leaders, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
Learner Outcomes
By attending/participating in this workshop participants will be able to:
1. Identify common patterns of learner differences within variable instructional
groups.
2. Apply UDL principles to predict and control for variations of need among
individual learners within groups.
3. Access and utilize tools and strategies to apply their knowledge of UDL within
group sessions.
4. Understand the importance of flexibility for goal-setting, lesson planning, and
assessment within a group setting.
