Hi, Tabitha. In order to export audio as an MP3 file from Audacity, you have to install the LAME MP3 encoder. Explanations in http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3 .I hope this answers your question.

I used Switch Audio File Converter Software to convert an audio file to MP3. It's really easy. Once you install and start the software, you will find a button to allow you to add audio. Then, click another button (convert or export, you have to check) and choose the MP3 as your audio format to be converted to.

I think Cast Builder has a limit on audio size too. I am looking for an easy way to compress long audio files. Anyone has a tip?

Thanks everyone!! I got it finally, even though it was due friday night

Hi Tabitha -

I'm probably too late here, but if you have trouble installing the Lame encoder (which i did) there is a program called Amadeus Pro that enables you to open files in many audio formats and save to others, including mp3. it costs a little money but it is a great program and very easy to use.... (I think it MIGHT be just Mac so if you are on a PC maybe not helpful!)
